Hopefully most of you know that if you use QuickBooks versions 2005 or earlier, they will not work with Internet Explorer 7. QuickBooks versions in 2006 are compatible IF you download the product update required to support IE7. This issue is a problem for all of you who have your computer set to automatically update all windows updates. You may get IE7 and then realize your QuickBooks file does NOT work!
Microsoft did put out a program that will block the download and update of IE7 for those of you who will need it. You can find it here.
If you do happen to upgrade your IE7, and you are using a previous version of QuickBooks, you will have to uninstall IE7 and reinstall IE6. If you need help determining what version of IE you have, and what to do about it, there are some guidelines here.
Take heart though, we have been assured that IE7 will work with all versions of QuickBooks in January of 2007. It will mean another update for your QuickBooks product, but that is actually not that far off!
Also, stay tuned for some of the advantages of upgrading to QuickBooks 2007. There are some benefits!

Dear Clhoe,
Microsoft is pushing the IE7 upgrade and like most users, I installed it and my QB 2004 Pro package sometimes would work, but would always hang when sending electronic invoices, etc. The quick fix I used was to install both Netscape 7.2 and IE7 on my system. Have the default browser as Netscape....at least when using QB and QB 2004 Pro seems to work fine.
This may be a simple solution for those of us stuck on QB2004 and other older software until they get the compatibility problem fixed.......
Thanks!
